HOUSTON More City of Houston workers have lost their jobs due to the city's budget shortfall.

As of Thursday night, the city has let go634 employees.

Three finance department workers, 12 civilian workers from the fire department and 99 people from the parks department were the latest cuts.

Twenty-seven others were released Monday.

Mayor AnniseParkersaid no firefighters or police officers have lost their jobs yet, and that they would be the very last considered for layoffs.
