HARRIS COUNTY A house fire Friday night led to the discovery of a marijuana grow house in northeast Harris County, fire officials said.

According to the Harris County Fire Marshal s Office, the Huffman Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire at 11:30 p.m. at 94 Ash Place. After putting the fire out fire, crews discovered there was apparent indoor marijuana grow operation inside of the house.

Investigators from the Fire Marshal s Office were called to assist and found evidence of an indoor marijuana grow operation with approximately 15 plants, said Lt. Dean Hensley with the Harris County Fire Marshal s Office.

The occupants of the house confessed to investigators that they were growing their own marijuana.

The suspects were identified as 35-year-old Herman Toney and 40-year-old Shelley Sheffield.

Both suspects were charged with possession of marijuana and booked into the Harris County jail.
