HOUSTON -- Testimony enters its second week in the trial of a woman in the 2010 slaying of a 12-year-old Houston boy.

The capital murder trial of Mona Nelson resumes Monday before a Harris County jury in Houston.

Nelson is accused of killing Jonathan Foster, whose badly burned body was found stuffed in a culvert. The child disappeared Christmas Eve 2010.

Nelson has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors say they don t have a motive.

Nelson s attorney, Allen Tanner, has suggested that the boy s stepfather had a motive to kill because his stepson had come between him and his wife.

The stepfather, David Davis, has denied the allegations. Prosecutors have begun presenting physical evidence linking Nelson to the child.

Nelson has chosen to have a judge decide her case instead of a jury.
