HOUSTON Approximately 25 pounds of heroin, with a street value of over $2.3 million, were confiscated Friday morning during a traffic stop, Rosenberg police said.

Rosenberg police officers pulled the swerving vehicle over in the 2800 block of U.S. Highway 59 at about 1:35 a.m.

During the course of that traffic stop they noticed things that were unusual, said Assistant Police Chief Dallis Warren. They asked for consent to search, and that s when they found a hidden compartment.

The two people inside the vehicle, 44-year-old Houston resident Christopher Clark, and 36-year-old Katy resident Alejandra Oropeza, were both arrested and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, a first degree felony.
