GALVESTON, Texas Galveston police say a suspected drunk driver is responsible for a crash on the seawall that killed an Humble man and injured his wife.
According to the Galveston Police Department, 72-year-old Ashley Boyd and his wife, Alice, were headed to a family gathering in their Toyota Sienna around 2 p.m. Saturday.
That is when 38-year-old Adrian Paul Mills made an abrupt U-turn in his Infinity Q50 SUV and slammed into their minivan.
The accident happened in the 9500 block of Seawall Boulevard.
Ashley Boyd died at the scene. The fatal accident shut down the seawall for several hours, police said.
Mills has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. He is being held on bonds totaling $150,000.
