HEMPSTEAD, Texas -- A grand jury has indicted Hempstead ISD superintendent Delma Flores-Smith on three counts of tampering with government records.
Flores-Smith turned herself in to officials at the Waller County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
According to authorities, the document was her resume. Someone questioned her credentials -- when asked to submit a resume, it was different from the one on file.
The charges are Class A misdemeanors and are punishable up to a year in jail.
Hempstead School Board members confirmed that Flores-Smith is on paid admin leave as they conduct their own investigation.
