HOUSTON Authorities are searching for four male suspects after a McDonald s was robbed late Saturday in northwest Houston.

It was terrifying, said a witness going through the drive-thru at the time. I was shaking when I saw the man with the gun through the drive-thru window.

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened just after 9 p.m. at the restaurant located at Highway 290 and Fairbanks N. Houston.

Investigators said four males with masks entered the restaurant and held up the employees and customers at gun point. Witnesses say the suspects were wielding assault rifles. The suspects then demanded cash from the registers.

I thought I was going to die, said an employee working inside at the time. I did everything they asked, but I was able to hit the panic button.

Other customers who went through the drive-thru called 911, too. After robbing the restaurant, the suspects fled the scene in a Dodge Charger, police said.

However, an HPD unit had pulled up to the restaurant while they were leaving and gave chase, police said. The pursuit headed towards West Little York before the suspects car struck a curb at Chateau Forest.

Police said the suspects were forced to pull into a business park and then fled on foot. Police scanned the area on the ground with dogs and by air with helicopters. However, they remain at large.

The suspects did drop some cash alongside some railroad tracks, police said.

Police said no one was injured during the robbery, but customers are shaken.

I won t be going to eat fast food for a while, said one of the witnesses.
