HOUSTON - A family of six safely escaped their northside home when it caught fire early Monday morning, Houston firefighters said.

The fire was reported on Moody Street near Gano Street around 3 a.m. The Houston Fire Department said heavy flames were shooting from a one-story home. It was quickly put out.

According to investigators, the fire started in a motor at the bottom of a refrigerator in the home.

Two parents, two grandparents, and two small kids were in the home at the time, but no injuries were reported.
