TEXAS CITY A jury that convicted a woman of manslaughter sentenced her Tuesday to three years in prison for fatally striking a pedestrian.

Misha Alondra Cridland, 41, of Texas City was initially charged with intoxication manslaughter in the April 28, 2011, death of Mary Mitchell Rilat, 77.

Prosecutor Bill Reed told the jury that Cridland took pain medication before running off the road and striking Rilat in the 1900 block of 34th Street in Texas City.
