HOUSTON - Police said a woman driving a Jeep Liberty on the North Loop wrecked her SUV, taking out a freeway sign and a utility pole.
The woman failed a field test and was taken into custody for suspected drunken driving, Houston police said.
The crash happened shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday near the exit for N. Durham. Police said the woman lost control while she traveled eastbound.
The impact with the utility pole was so great it split the pole in half. Despite this, police said the woman was not injured.
The woman told officers another vehicle cut her car off, causing her to lose control.
