HOUSTON - A man with a box cutter walked into the county jail in downtown Houston early Friday and allegedly got into a fight with a deputy before getting shot with a Taser.

Deputies said it happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Harris County jail on San Jacinto. The suspect walked into the jail s front entrance and told deputies he wanted to stay there. The man then got into an argument with a deputy and punched him, according to authorities.

Police said the deputy responded by discharging his Taser gun on the suspect. He was then taken into custody.

It s not known how many bystanders witnessed the incident, but no injuries were reported.
