ATASCOSACOUNTY -- The Atascosa County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Friday they have found the body of the teen suspected of killing former County Commissioner Tommy Shearrer.

Deputy Chief David Soward saidthe body of Manuel De Los Reyes Galeas, 19, was spotted byhelicopter around 1 p.m. Friday near the scene of Wednesday's murder.

He died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound from the same weapon used on Shearrer, Soward said.

Shearrer was found fatally shot inside his pickup truck Wednesday on St. Augustine Road between Farm Road 3006 and U.S. 281 -- about four miles north of Pleasanton. He was 56.

Galeas was originally a person of interest after the murder. Ajudgesigned off on a murder warrant for Galeas later that night, making him a suspect.

The judge, however, refused to release the warrant affidavit, asking KENS 5 to submit a formal records request.

Investigators said Galeas had a dispute with his girlfriend just hours before the murder. He allegedly fire shots at his girlfriend, but missed,as she darted inside her house.

Little is known about the relationship between Shearrer and Galeas.

Funeral services for Shearrer will be held 10 a.m. SaturdayatCowboy Fellowship Church in Atascosa County.
