NORTHWEST HARRIS COUNTY A mother and daughter hid in a closet and frantically called 911 when two men broke into their home Wednesday.

In broad daylight, the suspects men kicked in a fence, then windows behind the home.The women inside heard the glass shatter and ran upstairs to hide ina bedroom closet.

As deputies arrived, they noticed two suspects leaving.Oneof the mensurrendered immediately.The other tried hiding in a tree in nearby woods, but deputiestracked him down.

The crime has shaken the community of Albury Trails Estates.

Oh my goodness, this is terrible, said Isabel Alduen, a neighbor.

I m very shocked, said Lawrence Pace, another neighbor. I didn t notice that anything was wrong until my neighbor came over and rang my door bell and informed me that his home was broken into.

In four years,residents say crime has been a stranger in their new development.

About the worst thing we ve had come through around here was some minor break-ins for copper and so forth, Pace said.

I can t even wrap my head around it because we re always careful, said Alduen. You know from the east coast. This is a safe neighborhood. Where did it come from?

Detectives don t yet have those answers.They said it is not clear if the suspects have been involved insimilar crimes.
