HOUSTON Family, friends and neighbors held a candlelight vigil Saturday night to remember the life of Candace Williams, a mother of three who was killed by her husband.

If she would have just told somebody this could have been prevented, said David Sweazie, the victim s uncle.

According to police, the couple got into an argument and 24-year-old Deckard shot his 26-year-old wife in the head and then turned the gun on himself.

Police said a 7-year-old girl found her mother Candace Williams and step-dad Phillip Deckard, dead from an apparent murder-suicide. The couple had been married for only four months, according to family members.

Family members are now caring for the children: 6-year-old Torian, 7-year-old Neira, and 1-year-old Paris. The family has set up a fund for Candace s children at Wells Fargo under the Candace Williams Memorial Fund.
