HOUSTON - Firefighters with the Houston Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex on the southwest side late Wednesday.

The fire was reported on Dashwood at S. Kirkwood around 8:30 p.m.

HFD found heavy flames coming from a two-story building. A second alarm was pulled when the fire started spreading to other units.

Firefighters managed to cut off the blaze, but four units were burned.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators said the fire started in the kitchen of a downstairs unit. A tenant reportedly left something on the stove as he went outside to get his kids.
