HOUSTON - A teenage girl was struck by a car at a busy northwest Houston intersection early Monday.

Houston paramedics and police were called to Gessner Drive near Emnora Lane around 8:32 a.m.

The driver involved in the incident stayed at the scene to talk to police.

The injured girl was loaded onto a stretcher. She appeared to be alert, but the extent of her injuries was not known.

Witnesses said the girl was wearing headphones when she was hit.
