Sky watchers enjoyed a special viewing when a total lunar eclipse arrived early on the morning of Tuesday, April 15. This began a rare sequence of four total lunar eclipses expected over the next two years.
The eclipse began around 1 a.m. and came to an end after 3 a.m. It's called the blood moon because of its unique color -- given as the shadow of the earth blocks light from the sun.
