Could sodas and sugary drinks soon have a warning label much like cigarettes?

Lawmakers in California are proposing a warning label be required on soda drinks sold in the state.

State Senator Bill Monning introduced the bill which would be the first in the nation requiring some popular drinks to have a warning on the front.

The label would read 'State of California safety warning: Drinking beverages with added sugar(s) contributes to obesity, diabetes and tooth decay'.

The California Medical Association and California Center for Public Health Advocacy are co-sponsors of the bill, according to CBS News.
