HOUSTON - At least one man died in a crash involving a rolled SUV in southeast Houston early Tuesday, police said.
Another man was sent to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Houston Police Department responded to the 6300 block of Long Drive near the South Loop shortly after 3 a.m.
An older red Ford SUV left the road, struck a pole, and then rolled into the parking lot of a nearby business. The utility pole fell on the SUV, so firefighters had to wait for CenterPoint crews to turn off power before they could assist the victims.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD said it appeared speed was a factor in the crash, and the men may have not been wearing seatbelts.
Police did not release the names of those involved.
