HOUSTON Two men were arrested Wednesday in connection with the fatal beating of a man at a north Houston car wash earlier this month, police said.
Aaron Mitchell, of Humble, and Aaron Robinson, 25, of Houston, are charged with murder and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the death of Pablo Hernandez, 46, of Houston, court documents state. The second unidentified suspect in the homicide is still on the run.
According to the Houston Police Department, Hernandez parked his 2007 Hummer in bay 6 of the car wash located in the 16200 block of Imperial Valley Drive on Nov. 2 around 8:30 p.m. He went inside a nearby washateria for change.
Outside, cameras caught two men, believed to be in their 20s, wandering the parking lot. One was wearing an orange hoodie with camouflage pants. The other suspect was wearing a white T-shirt, dark shorts and a camouflage jacket.
Houston police detectives think the suspects were waiting for Hernandez when he came out.
(Hernandez) was followed, HPD Detective Sgt. Eli Cisneros said. He was targeted on the street, apparently for his vehicle and did not know he was being followed into the parking lot.
The suspects beat Hernandez repeatedly in the back of the head with a gun.
Witnesses heard screams. One woman told KHOU 11 News she tried to help.
I explained to him that he needs to not move because when he moved, there was more blood, she said.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the Houston Northwest Medical Center.
