HOUSTON A Houston chef is one of Food & Wine magazine s picks for best new chefs in America 2013.
Underbelly Chef Chris Shepherd, and nine other chefs across the country, gained the title after a month-long selection process where the magazine editors solicited nominations from restaurant critics and food writers.
With a 25-year perspective on the awards, it s clear that these talented cooks have a brilliant future ahead of them. I can t wait to see where they ll go and what they ll cook, Food & Wine Editor in CheifDana Cowin said in a news release announcing the winners.
Shephard and the other 2013 honorees will be featured in the July issue of Food & Wine.
