SUGAR LAND, Texas -- A shooting victim says he was set up and jumped, but police in Sugar Land are telling a different story.

Jasmine Claxton, 23; Sarah Moehle, 18; Grayson VanRheen, 20; and Jessey Eaton, 27 were all charged with aggravated assault Tuesday following an overnight shooting and chase, according to the Sugar Land Police Department.

Police said it was around 11:30 p.m. Monday when the suspects pulled up on 27-year-old Coke Lukens near his aunt s home on Cypress Ridge Lane. They held the young man at gunpoint before shooting him and fleeing the scene.

Lukens s aunt called police, thinking her nephew was being robbed, police said.

Officers later spotted the suspects Honda sedan on Sweetwater Boulevard, and a chase ensued. Police said the driver got on the Southwest Freeway southbound where state troopers and Fort Bend deputies joined in. Eventually the suspects lost control and spun out in the highway s grassy median near the City of Beasley, about 20 miles southwest of Sugar land.

All four people in the vehicle were arrested without further incident.

Meanwhile, Lukens was sent to the hospital in stable condition to be treated for agunshot wound. He was released several hours later.

KHOU 11 News caught up with Lukens near his aunt s home Tuesday morning. He said the entire incident started after he met a girl online. He claimed they were supposed to be heading out for a late night meal, but he wasn t comfortable bringing her to his aunt s home, so they met down the street.

It s there Lukens claimed the girl set him up for robbery. He said the other three suspects jumped out of nearby bushes, one of them firing a shot into Lukens s car, grazing his back.

In a twist, however, police plan to charge Lukens too. After a subsequent investigation, they called the overnight assault a drug deal gone bad, regardless of what Lukens claimed.

I was just meeting a girl I knew, Lukens told KHOU 11 News. She kind of just set me up man. I didn t really know what was going on. I met her twice, actually. Yeah, I went to pick her up and dude just jumped out of the bush and shot at me.

Detectives did talk with the victim and he provided different versions of what occurred last night, said Sugar Land police spokesman Doug Adolph. He wasn t entirely helpful.

Two of Lukens s attackers are in the Fort Bend County Jail. The others were still being questioned by police.

As of noon Tuesday, Lukens was notin custody, but police said he will face some kind of drug charge.
