HOUSTON -- Police believe a burglar in a southeast Houston neighborhood may live in the area and is stealing from his neighbors.
Bianca DeLeon and her mother drove up to their home in the 4500 block of Falvey Avenue to see the door open and her dogs sitting outside. They immediately knew something wasn t right
Their TVs, computers and jewelry were gone.
They called police.
I was talking to the officer and I remembered she had cameras out there, said DeLeon.
Surveillance cameras were mounted right next door at her neighbor s house. Those cameras captured it all.
The first thing police noticed was the suspect driving up just minutes after the DeLeon and her mother left the house.
After breaking in, the cameras captured the suspect making several trips back and forth to his car. On one of his trips, police believe he may have seen a patrol car. He walked right towards the camera -- trying to make whoever made him nervous think he belonged over here.
The tape frightened DeLeon.
I slept with my panic button for our alarm, she said.
Houston police are investigating several break-ins in the Oak Meadows neighborhood. The suspect -- who appears to be just 5-feet 6-inches is likely responsible for many, if not all.
Police believe the suspect s car is a green or grayish Dodge Intrepid with black rims. It actually looks like an unmarked police car.
Anyone with information on this incident or any other burglary should call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
