BAYTOWN, Texas School officials and parents of students at or near Goose Creek CISD were on high alert after seven incidents of strangers trying to lure children were recently reported.

The stranger danger letters were sent out warning parents and the incidents were reported to authorities.

The most recent happened last Friday at a bus stop at Burbank and Barrymore.

A San Jacinto Elementary student said a strange man in an orange Mustang pulled up to her and told her to come with him because her mom was sick.

Three other incidents have been reported at bus stops involving Cedar Bayou Junior High students and other students who were reportedly targeted attend Gentry Junior High, Victoria Walker Elementary, Alamo Elementary and BP Hopper Primary Schools.

Parents were urged to remind their children not to talk to strangers and to never get into a vehicle with anyone unless they have permission. Principals and teachers reinforced that message at school. School counselors also conducted guidance lessons on Stranger Danger for all students.

It was not known if any of these incidents could be connected.
