FORT WORTH - Tarrant County has confirmed two more West Nile virus-related deaths, the third and fourth this year in that county.

According to a county release, the one patient was in North Richland Hills and another in Fort Worth. Both were in their 80s with underlying medical conditions.

They are the 15th and 16th WNV-related deaths overall in North Texas.

Tarrant County reports 205 human cases of West Nile virus, Dallas County reports 262 cases, Collin County reports 36 cases and Denton County reported 96 human cases of West Nile virus at last check.

The City of Fort Worth has used targeted ground spraying so far to combat the spread of the virus. The city will hold a community meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for the two new ZIP codes with rising West Nile cases, 76137 and 76244. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at Summerglen Library at 4205 Basswood Boulevard.
