SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found stuffed inside the trunk of a car on the city's far northwest side.

Investigators said the body was found around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 7200 block of Brandy Ridge.

Police said the car was seen leaving a neighborhood near the downtown area where shots were reported hours before the body was found.

When police arrived in the 100 block of Forrest Avenue, where the shots were reported, the only thing they found were shell casings and some blood.

Witnesses reported seeing a car leaving the scene and they were able to give police a license plate number.

That car was spotted a few hours later on Brandy Ridge in front of a vacant home and that's when police discovered the body in the trunk of the car.

Police did not give a cause of death.

Police searched the neighborhood for a person of interest were unable to locate any suspects.

No arrests have been made.
