TEMPLE,Texas -- Three people have been updated from critical condition after a shooting on Fort Hood left four people dead and 16 injured. Doctors say they don't expect any more fatalities.
Nine people went to Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. It's the closest trauma center to the post, about 30 miles away. Major Patrick Miller, from NY, was identified as one of the victims.
As of Thursday evening, five of those had been released.
The hospital said Thursday remaining trauma includes spinal, abdomen and neck injuries.
The nine patients included eight men and one woman. Their ages range from early 20s to mid 40s. Most of the patients have gunshot wounds or injuries from shrapnel debris. A man and a woman have already undergone surgery, but Dr. Matt Davis says they will likely have more.
Scott &White officials say all of the patients are remaining positive as they recover. Hospital staff says they have been able to contact relatives of all the patients.
