HOUSTON -- Police responded to an alarm call early Wednesday where they said they found a man coming out of a store with a backpack stuffed with stolen items.

The call came in around 1:15 a.m. at the Dollar General on Antoine near W. Little York, Houston police said.

The man apparently broke glass at the front of the store to get in. He stuffed his backpack with sunglasses, cologne, toothpaste, and other items before leaving out the front, police said.

The suspect was not aware police were already on the scene, and he was taken into custody without incident.
