RICHMOND, Texas A police chase in Fort Bend County Saturday morning led to a one vehicle crash and the arrest of a male suspect wanted for theft, police said.

According to the Richmond Police Department, an officer attempted to pullover a suspect with two arrest warrants at 9:30 a.m. near South Eleventh Street and Morton. The suspect was also wanted in connection with several thefts cases in Fort Bend, Wharton and Austin counties.

However, the suspect refused to stop and a pursuit ensued into Rosenberg, police said. The suspect then lost control of their vehicle on the frontage road of Interstate 59 near Reading Road.

After the suspect crashed his vehicle, he tried to flee the scene on foot, but was apprehended by Richmond and Rosenberg police officers, police said.

Police said the suspect appeared to under the influence of some sort of narcotic and suffered minor injuries during the crash.

Later, police discovered that the suspect had two stolen bicycles from a Sealy Wal-Mart.
