HOUSTON - Air 11 was leaving a scene southeast of downtown Houston late Thursday morning when our photog spotted a bald eagle flying around.
The eagle was spotted soaring over a neighborhood not far from the George R. Brown shortly before noon.
According to Texas Parks & Wildlife, bald eagles in Texas nest from October to July. Peak egg-laying occurs in December, with hatching primarily in January. When they are on their own, young bald eagles migrate northward out of Texas, returning by September or October.
