SPRING, Texas A 34-year-old Spring ISD teacher has been accused of having an improper relationship with a student, according to district officials.
Shae McCutchen, a football coach and health teacher at Westfield High School, is charged with improper relationship with a student, according to the Harris County District Attorney s Office.
According to the Spring Independent School District, McCutchen was placed on administrative leave on July 9 while the Spring ISD Police investigated the allegation that he had an improper relationship with a female student.
McCutchen has been employed at Westfield since 2004.
Spring ISD officials released the following statement regarding McCutchen:
Spring ISD and Westfield High School will always take allegations of this nature seriously, conduct a thorough investigation and pursue criminal charges when appropriate. We are encouraging students and parents to always report any behavior that is suspicious or inappropriate. There are numerous reporting systems in place, including an anonymous Let s Talk About It system that is easily accessed on every campus website district wide. We will continue to make student safety our highest priority.
The district said the criminal history and references of job applicants are routinely checked before they are hired.
I had been hearing he did that but I didn't want to believe it, one student at Westfield said when she heard the news. Now I don't want to go to school because somebody could do that to me.
