ROSENBERG, Texas - Police in Rosenberg said they found about $170,000 worth of marijuana hidden in a compartment on a boat during a traffic stop Sunday evening.

Police said an officer with a K-9 unit stopped a Ford F-150 in the 2500 block of Avenue H. around 7:50 p.m. The police dog picked up on a scent coming from a boat being towed by the truck.

Police searched the boat and said they found 155 bundles of marijuana, totaling about 562 pounds, were found in a hidden compartment.

The driver and a passenger, identified as Clint Schweining and Martin Wilson, were both arrested on a felony charge of possession of marijuana.

Police said the traffic stop was the result of an on-going drug trafficking investigation. They said both suspects stories of where they were going from and where they were going were very inconsistent.
