The TCU Horned Frogs lost 3 games by less than 7 points last season and overall, 15 starters return to the team in 2013. One of the team s strengths was the defense which ranked 16th nationally in yards allowed from scrimmage.

One of their biggest weapons on defense though will have to sit out the first two games. Preseason Defensive Player of the Year choice Devonte Fields was suspended for violating team rules.

The other big question mark deals with quarterback Casey Pachall. He was picked as the All Big 12 pre-season quarterback and was 15-2 as a starter before he had to leave the team in October of last year. If he is back at full strength, then the Frogs could be scary good this season.

However, in case something happens with Pachall, then Trevon Boykin will definitely be able to step in and continue what he started last year. He showed flashes of what could be in the future, but the offense did stumble down the stretch, as they weren t able to score more than 20 points in four of their final 6 games.

Waymon James is back at running back and hopes to build on his 11 touchdowns and at receiver; Brandon Carter should once again light up opposing defensive backs.

TCU has the pleasure of opening up with LSU at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. A month later, they have to travel to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. From there, the schedule gets a lot easier as they host both Texas and Baylor, games which could be a big factor when it comes to bowl positioning.
