HOUSTON, TX - Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Houston Police Department are searching for two women who allegedly pulled a knife on a store clerk while they were trying to make a getaway after a theft.
Police said on May 13, two women entered a clothing store in the 6900 block of the Gulf Freeway near Woodridge around 11:15 a.m. and began to browse the merchandise. They made their selections, then went to the service counter to checkout.
One of the women left the store while the cashier was ringing up the merchandise and the other stayed behind. The clerk bagged the items and gave the total, but instead of paying, the woman snatched the bags and made a run for it. The woman hopped into a small, red, four-door car where the other woman was waiting.
When the clerk tried to stop them, one of the women drew a knife and threatened her.
The first suspect is said to be between 20 and 27 years of age, stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 160 lbs. She had black hair, which was pulled into a pony tail, and a tattoo around her navel.
The second suspect appeared to be between 30 and 38 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed about 144 lbs. She also had black hair.
Surveillance cameras captured still images of the suspects.
