BELLAIRE, Texas -- Police are looking for a stolen pistol after two suspects were arrested for burglarizing vehicles early Monday morning, according to Bellaire police.

Officials said they were notified Monday afternoon that a car had been burglarized and a blue steel Taurus .380 semi-automatic pistol was taken.

Police said the suspects were arrested near S. Rice Avenue and the West Service Road of IH 610 between Jessamine and Evergreen streets. After they were taken into custody, officers did not find the pistol on the suspects. Police believe the pistol was discarded as the suspects ran from authorities.

Residents in the area of the search are asked to call the Bellaire Police Department at 713-668-0487 if they find the pistol in their yard. Police ask that you do not touch or move the gun and keep it away from children until they arrive.
