SACRAMENTO,California -- Flying cars aren't just the vehicles of science fiction films and the Jetsons anymore.

A company inCalifornia developed what it calls the Skycar. Now its inventor has financial backers in the U.S. and China to help get production rolling.

The Skycar model is now being wind tunnel tested. It will be the first aircraft to come from the new joint venture.

It is designed for short distances, low level flights and can be driven on a street at 30 mph.

It will not require a pilot's license, but a pilot's certificate - which is like a driver's license.
