HOUSTON - At Mogas Industries north of Houston, they manufacture valves for the oil and mining industries, among other things. But investigators said one employee, 53-year-old Isaac Gutierrez, was enjoying a little photography on the side.
What he had done was put a recording device on an iPod inside one of the women s bathrooms and had concealed it in a vent, Deputy Thomas Gilliland, of the Harris County Sheriff s Office, said.
According to the criminal complaint, a female co-worker spotted the device on Nov. 28 and reported it to human resources. Gutierrez was arrested and charged with two counts of improper photography.
He caught at least two females on camera, either changing clothes or using the restroom, Donna Hawkins, of the Harris County District Attorney s Office, said.
She said he also caught himself on camera as he was trying to hide the device.
Improper photography is a state jail felony that carries up to two years behind bars.
Neither Gutierrez nor Mogas Industries are commenting.
