HOUSTON A woman is accused of trying to burn down her boyfriend s southeast Houston home after the two of them got into an argument on June 16, 2012.She was seen wearing a nightgown in the early-morning hours when she doused the house with liquid, started the fire and ran, according to investigators with the Houston Fire Department.

Valerie Renea White, 43, has been charged with felony Arson.

A man was riding down the street in the 5600 block of Belmark around 3 a.m. when he saw White standing in front of her boyfriend s house.She was wearing a white teddie night gown with polka dots on it, according to the witness.

The witness said he then saw White pour liquid along the front of the house, ignite it with a cigarette lighter, then run away.

The witness then rushed to wake up the homeowner.He told the homeowner that White had set the fire. He recognized her because she used to live there with the boyfriend.

In addition to the homeowner, two more adults and five children were inside when the fire was set.

Thanks to the witness, none was hurt.

Arson investigators determined that the fire had been intentionally set with the aid of some sort of flammable and combustible liquid.The on-scene investigator said the liquid, which smelled similar to gasoline, had not only been poured along the front exterior of the residence, but also on three vehicles parked in the driveway.

The boyfriend said he and White had just argued a few hours earlier.

The witness was provided a photo lineup and was able to positively identify White.Charges were filed and her bail was set at $20,000.
