PORTER, Texas -- Constable deputies said they found a stash of heroin, cash and weapons inside the home of an Humble ISD first grade teacher.
The district placed Monica Quintero, 31, on paid leave while authorities investigate. She is a bilingual teacher at Ridge Creek Elementary school.
Deputies came to Quintero's apartment because others in the complex reported smelling a suspicious odor.
That's a shame, said Mark Damiano, a neighbor and Humble ISD parent. You don't want a teacher teaching your kids, instilling values in them and then doing something like that, that's horrible.
Quintero, along with three men, were booked into the Montgomery County jail on drug charges. She is being held on a $50,000 bond.
