HOUSTON - Police are still looking for leads into the death of a man who was shot in a neighborhood south of Hobby Airport earlier this month.

It happened Oct. 1 shortly before 2 a.m. in front of a home on Randolph Street near Constellation Lane, according to officers with the Houston Police Department.

On Friday, HPD identified the victim as Rafael Ortiz Farias, 43.

On the morning of his death, Farias was last seen leaving a nearby ice house after a date. It was nearly an hour later a 911 call was made after a resident reported hearing popping sounds outside of his house.

Following a thorough investigation, HPD said no suspects were identified, but police determined Farias was robbed of his iPhone during the shooting.

Investigators now hope that an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers of Houston will lead to the identification, charging, and arrest of the suspect or suspects responsible. Call 713-222-8477.
