HOUSTON Firefighters worked to control a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex in northwest Houston Friday night.

Around 9:15 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at the Timbers apartments at Gulf Bank and Antoine.

The fire was so intense that it spread to a neighboring building. Firefighters used hand-held hoses to extinguish those flames quickly.

The main fire affected about 16 apartments and had to be fought for several hours. Security guards who work at the complex assisted with evacuations, according to HFD.

No injuries were reported. The Red Cross is assisting apartment management with relocation.
