HOUSTON Houstonians rallied together Saturday to help out three Briargrove children who lost their parents in a West Texas car crash earlier this month.

Volunteers held a charity dog wash in southwest Houston to support the three Berry children; Peter, 9, Aaron, 8, and Willa, 6.

Their parents, 41-year-old Josh Berry and 40-year-old Robin Berry died on July 2 when a car veered into oncoming traffic in West Texas and hit their minivan.

The two boys were paralyzed and their sister broke her ankle and wrist.

Friends of the family organized the event.

I think that everybody wanted to do something, so tossing and turning at night, it just sort of came about, said Tracy Pesikoff, a volunteer of the fundraiser.

The Berry children are now being cared for by their aunt and uncle.
