CYPRESS, Texas A 33-year-old man was arrested Saturday in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault in the Cypress area earlier this month, deputies said.

Angela Lockhart, a mother of two, can breathe a sigh of relief, now that Ricky Lee Zepeda, the man possibly responsible for terrorizing her neighborhood the last few weeks, has been caught.

It seemed like they were targeting women who were taking the groceries out of their car and that s what I do, said Lockhart.

Zepeda is accused of breaking in and raping, then robbing one woman in her Cypress area home, while her children were in the other room. That s not all; Harris County Sheriff s deputies link Zepeda to the Jan. 21, home invasion and sexual assault of a woman in the Cypress Landing subdivision. Those charges are pending.

But there s also a woman by the name of Charity, who told KHOU 11 News she was at a Cypress-area park when a man attacked her. She said the suspect tried to rape her, but thankfully she fought back and got way. It was in the same area of the other two incidents.

The Lockhart family lives just feet away from where that attack happened.

It s just really great they finally caught him you know. I would stay up at night, make sure everything was locked. It s great they finally caught him. I know a lot of the girls at my school were scared, said Zach Lockhart, Angela s son.

The Cypress community passed around a sketch of the man, hoping to stop him.

Joanne Slater had moved to the neighborhood, specifically because was known to be safe.

Things happen. You know we re not safe anywhere. A lot of stuff happens in nice neighborhoods, said Slater.

Now this neighborhood can get back to normal, not having to worry about who would be next.

Zepeda was apprehended by a joint task force of investigators from the HCSO Adult Sex Crimes, members of the HCSO Safe Homes task force and the assistance of the Department of Public Safety, Texas Ranger Division.
