A study by DataGenetics has uncovered the most commonly used personal identification numbers worldwide.

Identity theft investigators said people aren't doing enough to protect themselves and are making it easier for criminals to access their personal information.

The most commonly used PIN is 1-2-3-4. The subsequent most commonly used PINs are 1-1-1-1 and 0-0-0-0, according to DataGenetics.

Birthdays are also commonly used, which can easily be found online.

One in 10 passwords can be figured out with only one guess, according to researchers.
