HOUSTON A motorcycle driver died Sunday after striking a vehicle in southeast Houston, Houston police said.

The fatal wreck happened at about 8:10 p.m. in the 4900 block of Reed Road.

Witnesses told police the motorcycle driver was speeding westbound in the turn only lane of Reed Road, and doing a wheelie, when he struck an Acura RLX, which had stopped at the intersection.

The 25-year-old victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he died. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

There are no indications alcohol was a factor in the accident, police said.
