HOUSTON-- Police responded to a Third Ward home early Tuesday where a woman allegedly stabbed a man while he slept.

Officers with the Houston Police Department said the stabbing happened around 2 a.m. at a home on Holman Street at Nettleton Street.

According to HPD, the victim was stabbed twice in his upper chest. He was sent to the hospital in stable condition.

Police said the suspect, who may have been the girlfriend of the victim, was nowhere to be found. HPD said investigators know who the woman is, and they will be looking for her. Her name was not released.
