HOUSTON -- Police said early Wednesday a suspected drunken driver led them on a chase all the way to his place of work on the northwest side of Houston.
The Houston Police Department said it was around 12:30 a.m. when 911 dispatchers received a call from a driver saying they spotted a possible drunken driver weaving in a pickup truck.
Officers caught up with the suspect near the North Freeway and N. Main, but they said the truck s driver refused to pull over. He led police on a chase west on the North Loop to Highway 290. He then exited the freeway and went west on 43rd to Hollister. That s where the suspect came to a stop outside his place of work. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.
Deputies said during the chase, the man hit the concrete barrier on Highway 290 several times but managed to miss several spike strips deployed by HPD.
The man now faces charges of felony evading and driving while intoxicated, according to HPD.
