The 27-year-old victim was found lying in the street in the 22600 block of Spring Crossing around 3:30 a.m.

She was rushed by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, but she didn t survive.

Neighbors said they heard her begging Jeremy Stanford not to drive because he d been drinking.

Investigators say Stanford ignored his girlfriend s pleas and took off with her clinging to the hood of his jeep. She fell off and suffered severe head injuries.

It s just a shame, said Sean Oliver, who lives in the boyfriend s neighborhood where the accident happened. Originally I thought it was a wreck, but there was no cars.

It s very, very sad cause we saw the lady a couple of times, like, I say just, Hi and Bye and that s it, said Lionel Munguia, a neighbor.

Jeremy Stanford was arrested and charged with felony DWI. Prosecutors will decide whether to also charge him with intoxication manslaughter.
