HOUSTON The woman who allegedly ranover two children who were trick-or-treating on Halloween night has been charged with DWI.

Police say Katherine Ann Sanford, 52, hit the boy andgirlwith her SUV when they tried to crossSweetwater and Saddle Rock in north Houston Wednesday night.

Neighbors said the children ran ahead of the adults who were with them.

The boy went airborne when he was hit, according to witnesses.

The kid was up on the hood, and he fell into the street, said neighbor Burton Hayslip. I seen him tumble in front of the car.

I just seen the kid in the air, and when he came down, it s like she couldn t stop, said neighbor Cory Samuel.

Alfredo Orozco, 11,was airlifted to the hospital where heis being treated for a broken leg and other injuries. Six-year-old Bianca Orozco was treated for cuts and bruises.

Sanford is being held on a $2,000 bond.

She has a previous DWI convictionfrom 2010. Sanford was sentenced to community service in that case.
