HOUSTON Winds are out of the southeast this muggy Sunday, which is bringing the big change. Humidity is up, and so are temperatures, over the next few days, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.

Clouds rolled in over the morning hours and may bring with them some isolated showers through early afternoon. Highs will push towards 90, nearing records for this time of year. The warm weather will stick around through the work week, with the next appreciable change not occuring until next weekend.

The tropics are becoming more active with a disturbance in the Caribbean likely turning into a cyclone next week, and near enough to the Gulf of Mexico to pay attention to.
